Well, SharePoint Designer 2007 finally made it to MSDN and I've spent hours slowing my machine down by downloading it.
It's been a frustrating experience. The first download made it to "99% - 5 seconds left" before freezing so I started a new download to a new location which started off in a rush before settling down to the same steady (and SLOW) rate as the earlier one and so I left it to complete overnight.
When I got in this morning, it too had managed to get to "99% - 4 seconds left" before freezing.
So yet a third attempt, only this time it's (seemingly permanently) "Queued" as it hasn't even started.
I think the above word "frustration" is more than a little justified, don't you ?
... and don't let me get started on Vista where the 32-bit version refuses to install on my only 2 year old 64-bit Athlon desktop and where the download of the x64 version got to 45% before I presume it stuck and it won't re-start (probably because they withdrew the x64 download possibility).
Not of course that I know whether *that* will install on my 64-bit machine, but no-one out there (in Redmond and places nearby) can say I'm not trying.
